The waiting game

Craig and I were at the doctors yesterday to check the baby's size.  They are estimating him at 7 lbs and 6 ounces- a bit over average size. He was practicing his breathing during the sonogram and of course hiding his face as best he could!
He definitely has Craig's lips and chin... so cute!   And it still looks like Steve's nose!  (at least its not mine!)
Looking forward to him arriving...I'm not getting much sleep anyway, so he might as well come!

The nicest room in our house..

The baby's room...  we love going in and just looking at how cute it came out!  Can't believe there's going to be a baby living in here shortly!  There's a few things we still have to hang on the walls..but it's pretty much all ready.  Make sure to look closely at Craig and his parents' hard work painting shiny and flat stripes on the walls! (you can click on all the pics to enlarge)

Almost done!!

Pictures from yesterday...i'm 36 weeks along.  It seems to me he's in position to exit!  I'm being kicked often up by my ribs...

Here's a few pictures from our shower.  We had a great time, much thanks to our parents for throwing us such a great party!  We went with the non traditional shower and had a co-ed backyard bbq..  Craig and I received lots of presents that we are still working on putting away!!

Backyard almost set up...

Another belly shot

Here's my growing belly.  I can barely remember a flat stomach like this blog starts out as!  I only have 8.5 weeks left to go till my due date.  He's been really active and on occasion keeps me up at night (and he's not even here yet!).

3D sonograms!

The baby at 30 weeks along..so who does he look like?!!  He was not the most cooperative for these pictures.  Kept putting his arm across his face, but we were able to sneak these two shots in!  At the time he was 3.5 lbs and only 5 days later we found out he was already 4 lbs!  Sounds like he might take after his daddy!

Doctor visit

Yesterday we went to the specialist and had new sonograms taken.  The baby had the hiccups at the time which was very funny watching his belly hiccuping!  And I could feel it happening while watching it on the screen...very weird!

These pictures are at 26 weeks.  You can see his profile in this picture.  His right hand is up by his face- slightly in a fist.  And the bubble looking thing in the center is the umbilical cord.

Here he is looking at you.  You can see his mouth
is slightly open.

So I finally have a baby bump.. here's proof!
This is me at 20 weeks (5 months) - exactly half way through
5/5/08

It's a boy!!

(All of these pictures you can click on to see larger)
The black area in the 3rd picture is his stomach..You might be able to notice the little arrow pointing to his boy parts.. !!

Here you can the dark areas of his head, eyes and nose. You can also see one hand by his face and the other hand lower down.

On Friday, May 2nd, we found out we'll be welcoming a baby boy in September. This means there will be plenty of ice hockey games for everyone to come watch him play in the upcoming years!

Craig and I have also decided we'll be staying in our condo for a little while longer.. we are now working on rearranging it to fit the baby and all his 'stuff'. So our weekends are now filled with organizing, cleaning and soon to be with sanding and painting!

Second trimester

Fifteen weeks along- March 29th

We've received only good news from the doctors on all of our screening exams. Negative results for spina bifida, all Jewish genetic diseases and down syndrome. Now, we are counting down the days till we get to find out what we are having...a baby boy or baby girl!! My 'baby bump' is much more distinct now and I've started to feel little movements inside a few days ago. Makes this whole thing seem more real! I'll put up more recent pictures soon..but here's a few from 3 and 2 weeks ago..

Four months- April 6th

Baby's travels

Before September comes, we'll have 'taken' the baby to quite a few places! In March we went to Vegas, which I recommend for anyone thinking of going, to try and NOT be pregnant there! No drinking definitely changes the full Vegas 'experience'!
In April, we went with Adam and Kelly for a weekend to Washington DC to see the Cherry Blossom festival. Sadly, we were about 2 days too late! All the blossoms were on the ground or in the Potomac...we still had a great time though. One of these years we'll get the timing right!!
Next trips are North Carolina to visit Steve and Liz for Memorial Day and then we'll take our LAST relaxing 'no kids' trip on the annual family cruise of the Caribbean at the end of June...

Technology is amazing

These pictures are from my most recent sonogram from my 1st trimester screening exam. They are taken at 13 weeks. You can see the 3D pictures are on the right. The baby's face, umbilical cord and arms and legs are all easily visible. Pretty amazing!!

Our current baby :)

So Brindel is still our baby though.. here's some cute pictures from the other day...

We did not put her under the covers.. this is how we found her! No one informed her that she's really a dog!!

3 months in the making

11 weeks along

Here's some recent pictures. So far Baby can barely be seen. Luckily Baby is also keeping itself from bothering me. Still no morning sickness or nausea..I am very thankful! Been a bit tired but it's nice to have an excuse to go to bed early!

We are still waiting for a buyer to make us a good offer on our condo. I'm hoping it'll happen soon so we can look for our next house and have plenty of time to set up prior to September coming.
